Guide Dogs is holding a volunteer roadshow at The Queens Hotel, Scarborough Avenue, Skegness on Wednesday 24th March 2010, starting at 2.00pm.
There will be various speakers from Guide Dogs who will happily answer any questions about the organisation or volunteering. In addition, a local guide dog owner already benefiting from the charity’s work will be there to talk about their own involvement with the charity and the difference that having a guide dog has made to their life.
Rebekah Shepherd from Guide Dogs said: “There are so many ways to volunteer. In particular we are looking for a branch treasurer and fundraisers to form part of the Skegness branch. Volunteering is fun and rewarding – you know you are helping to make a real difference to the lives of blind and partially-sighted people.”
The Guide Dogs service is entirely funded by voluntary donations, and needs support from volunteers to maximise its services for blind and partially-sighted people.
Anyone interested in volunteering or fundraising for Guide Dogs is invited to attend the local roadshow or contact Guide Dogs’ Volunteering Team on 0845 371 7771 or by emailing volunteer@guidedogs.org.uk
