Stour Valley Lions Book Sales have now been running for some 7 years, 3 in the new premises at the Coach House, Church Street, Shipston on Stour.(adjacent to the White Bear Car Park, opposite the Shipston Library) The project has grown from a monthly sale at ad-hoc premises to the new Coach House address every 2 weeks.

Originally from cardboard boxes, then to plastic trays and now to  shelved books in catagories. Fiction is now in alfa order making it easy for visitors to identify their favourite author. The childrens section has grow to now 3 sections which together with the education and travel sections gives a service to all the family.

Sections which have grown in popularity are Auto/biographies, History, Sport, Gardening and Food and Wine. The Lions continue to catagories the books which they receive, all donated, and have recently opened sections for Poetry, Art and Music.

The quality of books which the Lions have received enable visitors to have the advantage of current editions covering many subjects  At christmas many visitors were suprised at the quality being offered and purchases were made for chrismas presents. The same is true for birthdays, there are many bargains available for many tastes and interests.

All proceeds from the sale of books goes to local charities including the Air Ambulance Ellen Badger Hospital,Firs Responders, Shipston Home Nursing, Lions Youth Projects and others.
