Bradden - A vibrant community

Bradden - a little over 5 miles from the market town of Towcester - is one of the most beautiful villages in Northamptonshire.

The houses lining the High Street - a mix of terrace and high status - are built of that lovely Northamptonshire Iron Stone, that looks almost buttery in the English Summer time.

It is a village with a fascinating history, and an interesting mix of people.

The village - although small - now has its own website: www.braddenvillage.org.uk.

The village is a vibrant place. We hold quiz nights twice a year in our stone and brick village hall, (always a sell out),  we have an annual BBQ attended by most of the village residents and many of their friends, and our local Church - St Michael's - holds an annual concert.

On 5th June at 7.30pm the church will be holding its "Songs and Stringsfor Early Summer" where a group of musicians from the Royal College ofMusic will present a program of easy listening, and light classicalmusic. Light refreshments will be available before the concert andtickets cost £14 each, and can be obtained by contacting MargaretPickering (860335) or Glenys Crowcroft (860514).

This year the BBQ is being held on Sunday 20th June (Father's Day), and it will be a Hog Roast. Accompanying the Hog Roast will be home made salads and deserts made by our very talented villagers. There will be a licensed bar, live music, and pub type games. Because of the popularity of the event, entry is by ticket only and these are on sale at £7 for adults and £4 for children, available from Karen Martin 01327 860849.

Finally, if anyone is interested in hiring our Village hall - an elegant stone and brick built building with a recently refitted and refurbished kitchen, large hall area, separate ladies/gentlemen/disabled toilets - a charge of £6 per hour is made. Contact Karen Martin on 01327 860849.
