OAKAMOOR ACTION GROUP

Monthly Meeting Minutes

Monday May 24th 2010  Held at the Village Hall, Oakamoor at 7.30 pm.

Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved



Treasurer’s Report

Gardening Club  £410.48
Arch Garden  £  77.65
Bowling Group  £121.45
Balance  £609.58
 


 

Arch and Garden


 Emma has sourced indigenous plants for the area and planted them.

Gardening Club


The Parish Council have donated £200 towards the cost of plants.
It was agreed to source the plants from B & M or Morrisons.
Planting will be delayed until late May / early June.
The Lime Kilns area has been enhanced with a floral displays using tubs donated by the Cricketers’ Arms.
Some planting is required at the side of the footpath between the footbridge and the road, Isabel suggested ‘Rose of Sharron’ as attractive ground cover.

Jean is preparing the hanging baskets for the Village Hall.
A watering rota will be established later.

It was agreed that Marjorie should contact Alton Towers regarding a donation of plants, as they have in previous years, they can be delivered to Holly Cottage.

The ‘Village Tidy Up’ was successfully completed with a good turnout of residents.



 
Environmental Survey

Emma is preparing a bid for ‘Awards for All’ and it was suggested that the construction of a nature trail around the picnic area site would be worth considering.

Hydropower at Oakamoor
 
The Parish Council have commissioned a feasibility study for this project.
A proposed site near the ‘ Admirals House’ seems viable using initial data.
A full report by the consultants is awaited.



Village Hall Cooker


The Action Group has applied for funding for a cooker to be installed in the Village Hall.
Scott has applied to the ‘Give it Sum’ fund for £599, the bid will be considered at their June meeting.


  Meeting closed at 8.30 pm.
