The first Chilli Festival was held in the beautiful grounds of Benington Lordship in August 2006, born from a healthy addiction to chillis by the garden's owner Richard Bott. The festival has grown every year since then and now has over 30 stalls selling everything from fresh chillis, hundreds of chilli plants, sauces, jams, jellies and pickles to chilli chocolate and even ice cream. There is hot, freshly cooked food from India, Colombia, Thailand and more, and plenty of cold beer too. All this, in the stunning setting of Benington Lordship, with its ancient moated site, eighteenth century manor house, neo-Gothic folly and spectacular gardens.
The festival will be held on August bank holiday Sunday 29th and Monday 30th from 10am-5pm. Admission is £5.00, 12-16 yrs £2.50, under 12s free. Sorry, no dogs.
