Thames Valley Police officers are planning a major crackdown
on speeding and road safety in Beaconsfield later this month, following a successful similar operation in the town on 17 May.
The crackdown will take place on 27 July at various locations around the town, which cannot be disclosed at this point for operational reasons.
The operation in May was a joint initiative between the Force’s Roads Policing department and the Beaconsfield neighbourhood policing team and resulted in 21 people being fined.
In Gregories Road:
Five motorists were fined. Four people were fined for not wearing a seat belt; five were fined for driving while using a mobile phone; one was fined because the vehicle did not have a valid MOT.
In Candlemas Lane:
Two motorists were fined for exceeding the 30 mph speed limit; four people were fined for not wearing a seat belt.
Sgt Caroline Tailor from Thames Valley Police, the officer in charge of the operation, said: “Speeding and road safety are a top priority for the Beaconsfield neighbourhood policing team.
“By carrying out these enforcement operations, we hope to send a message to drivers in Beaconsfield that speeding is unacceptable".
