The Rainham Village Fayres have been running for about 12 years now, they are on the 1st May bank holiday and the 1st Saturday in December, over the years they have gone from strength to strength. We try to vary our events incorporating new ideas and are always looking for new ones, any suggestions? We have an Art Exhibition in Rainham Hall in May and the Library at Christmas, craft , plants, food stalls and a butcher from Cornwall with his home grown lamb, beef and pork who has proved very successful and has built up a reguler customer base as have most of our other stalls, we have some charity stalls offering information on their chosen charities and goodies to buy to support them. On Sunday the 18th of July we have ventured even further and have had 'Party in the Park 2010' with our star billing going to Josh Dubovie the UK representative in this years Eurovision Song Contest, we are having this concert to try and raise money for future Fayres as if our funding is withdrawn by local Council, due to this financial climate, we will have difficulty in continuing, we will however try to go on for as long as possible. We are always also hoping some new blood will come on to our committee as we are not getting any younger and with younger people they will always have fresh ideas so if anyone in Rainham reads this article perhaps they would like to contact the email address and introduce yourself to us, come along to our meetings at The Ship Cafe Rainham Broadway and find out how you can help. I look forward to seeing new people visiting our bi-annual Fayes I will always be on the R.A.V.E. information stall, make yourself known to me if you have read this article, look forward to seeing you Christmas 4th December 2010.
many thanks Lyn Fuller R.A.V.E.(Rainham Association for Village Events)
