The Huntspill Art Group was formed in2006 by a group of amateur artist, some of whom had done the usual 'art class'  but were keen to 'move on'.  A local artist Warwick Williams started the ball rolling, a small group formed in the New Vilage Hall, an ideal venue as very spacious with loads of natural light.  Sadly, he died not long after,  but the group has grown, we meet every other Wednesday afternoon and we have since held 2 exhibitions and planning a 3rd one in November  (26th, 27th, 28th).  Our group consists of semi-professional and amateur artists,  wanting to experiement with differant medias.  Materials (oils, water colour paints, pastels, paper and canvas)  are all available from the group's cupboard. and we are all encouraged to 'have a go' with differant materials.  We vary in age from 30ish up to 80 years!  our eldest member was suprised and delighted to have sold 2 of her paintings!   It only costs each member £3. per session, and a cup of tea is encluded!  We have a visiting tutor; Jean who comes once a month  to give encouragement and expert advice.
If you would like to join us, just come along, doors open at 1.30pm  to 'set up'   or give Kay a call on 01278 789678.
