The age old traditions of sheepdog training and using dogs on farms for shepherding sheep have been lost in some parts of Leicestershire and this tradition is now been revived by Nij Vyas. Many local farmers are once again realising that their daily shepherding tasks are achieved so much quicker with the help of a good dog. Many farmers were lucky to have dogs that worked without much training and as a resultt the skill of training subsequent dogs was lost. Nij aims to change this and has started the new year with 10 local farmers incluing two aged 12 years who are training their own dogs, with Nij's guidance. The future looks to be rosy.
