A journalist once wrote “A highly experienced teacher of guitar and ukulele, Tony Buch makes it all look too easy.
As he fingers the strings of his guitar to an improvised tune he looks like he’s composing a soundtrack to leisure time. There’s nothing more rewarding than relaxing and making music”.
Over forty-five years ago, he picked up a guitar and started teaching himself how to play. Now an accomplished musician, Tony says being self-taught gives him empathy for the many students he has taught over the years.
Using his own material that he has developed during thirty years of teaching, Tony takes students from absolute beginners on to advanced, professional level playing. The course covers most styles of music, from Folk to Jazz, and Country to Rock and Roll, including many well known songs.
“I believe in getting students to play songs very quickly to show progress and give a sense of reward”. It could all start from learning three chords on the first lesson with a simple song and then learners build from there.
Tony has played in just about every type of band, as well as being a solo performer. Having spent the past six years living in New Zealand, Tony has now settled in Melbourn, where he has set up his teaching studio in his home.
