DwrCymru Welsh Water customers in Llangarron, Herefordshire, are set to benefitfrom a water mains improvement scheme in the area.
Thecompany is due to start work on 11 April replacing old pipes with newplastic ones. This will ensure customers continue to receive a top quality andreliable supply of water.
The scheme is scheduled to last for 10 weeks. The work will involve renewing almosttwo kilometres of water main, threading the new pipe underground in 100 metrelengths to ensure the scheme is completed as quickly as possible. While some ofthis work will take place in the surrounding fields, there is also a 900 metresection in the highway which will need to be excavated to lay the new pipes.
Wehave agreed with Herefordshire County Council Highways Authority the need for atemporary road closure on Langstone Lane for the duration of the scheme. Theroad will be closed between Swallow Cottage, slightly to the east of GarrenBrook and Church View at the junction with Llangarron, to Little Weirend Road.During this time, access for residents and emergency services will bemaintained.
