Dwr Cymru Welsh Water is gearing up to start an investment scheme on the drinking water network in Sandy Haven on 26th September.
We are going to replace old water pipes with new plastic ones, which will ensure that customers continue to receive a top quality and reliable supply of water direct to their taps.
Graham Hughes, Welsh Water’s distribution manager said: “We’re going to be working in this community for sometime as we need to replace 1.2 kilometres of water mains from Dale Road to Quay Cottage and we anticipate that this will take approximately three months to complete.
“We have delayed starting this scheme, so that we could avoid the busy summer holiday season, and not be a nuisance with so many visitors in the area. However, it is important that we do carry out this refurbishment work, so now we are going to crack on and get the work completed. We understand that no-one likes road works, but if that is where the pipes are laid we have no choice but to replace them there.
“To work quickly and safely we’re going to have to close the section of road off The Dale Road which leads to Skerryback Farm for the duration of the scheme. People can be assured that diversions will be clearly marked. We won’t be in the area for any longer than is absolutely necessary and will be getting on with the work to complete it as soon as we can and get onto the next job.”
We have written to everyone who will be directly affected by our work and will keep people updated of progress of the scheme.
