"I never heard so musical a discord, such sweet thunder." So says Puck in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Steiny’s Blues - Such Sweet Thunder presented by Steve Steinhaus at Calton Village Hall this Saturday 22nd October
Poems, songs and stories feature in this show. Steve, supported by talented Jazz musicians, tells tales of his Chicago childhood, shares his infectious love for the blues and relates stories of his life as a bouncer, poet and musician.
Great blues, soul, funk and 50s rock and roll tunes - think of the Ratpack jamming with The Commitments in a Chicago blues joint owned by Elvis and you'll start to get the picture. The band swings its way through a wide repertoire including everything from soul classics through to the Big Bopper and back to the bluesy boogie of Louis Prima and Louis Jordan.
