Polish Scouts have laid a wreath on behalf of Nuneaton’s Air Cadets at the Commonwealth Garrison Cemetery in Poznań.
Formany years Nuneaton based Air Cadets have joined their local Polish community to remember the Warwickshire based Polish airmen who lost their lives while serving with the RAF during the Second World War. But this year, the Squadron’s Polish connection grew even stronger when they teamed up with the ‘Rwetes’ Scout Groupfrom ZHP Puszczykowo near Poznań in Poland who laid a wreath on behalf of 121(Nuneaton) Squadron at the Commonwealth Garrison Cemetery in Poznań.
Every year the 11th November, is celebrated in Poland as Independence Day and in Britain as Remembrance Day. For both Nations it’s a time to remember the fallen soldiers who made our freedom and peace possible.
Such is the growing connection between the young people of 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron and the ‘Rwetes’ Scout Group in Poland, a wreath bearing the name of both youth groups was laid at the Polish war graves during this years service at Baginton. The ‘Rwetes’ Scout Group returned the honor by laying a poppy wreath on behalf of 121 (Nuneaton).Squadron
